When the 3-wood and the driver refuse to share a story
Players change loft, then face angle, then the ball. Sometimes the 3-wood is simply a different instrument from the driver, and the bag keeps asking them to play a duet.
We tick them as a pair, not as junior drivers
A 3-wood is shorter and usually heavier in the head than the driver you just pulled out of the same headcover family. Comparing their CPMs is useful. Pretending the 3-wood should sit a neat step below the driver on an iron-style stair is how charts get cute and bags stay loud. We write both numbers, we write the delta, and we stop before the poster.
Kansas wind comes up on another page. Here, the only weather that matters is the suite: if you bring fairways that slept in a cold trunk, Marisol will park them on the rail. A cold hoop on a long tube moves more than players expect, and a “weak 3-wood” story has died on that rail more than once.
Not useful
A fairway you last used in 2019, ticked “for curiosity,” then left in the trunk. Curiosity is fine. Do not make it the work order if a neighbor iron is the actual liar.
