CPM questions

The questions the desk actually gets

Not a marketing FAQ. These are the notes Helene answers on Monday mornings, usually while the master bar is still warm from the first tick.

Is CPM the same as a flex letter?

No. A letter is a bin. Cycles per minute is a number on a finished club. Two “regular” 7-irons from the same box can sit ten cycles apart after tip trim and head mass do their work. We write the number. We do not argue with the stamp.

Why eight CPM between neighbors?

Because that is where, on this rail, players stop describing a “jump.” Tighter than that and you are chasing humidity. Looser than that and a 6-iron and a 7-iron start feeling like two companies. Other benches use other windows. This is the hangar’s.

Do you tick on a mat or a range?

Neither. The microphone hears the tube, not the turf. If you want ball-flight coaching, that is a different door. We wrote a whole page on lessons versus the clamp.

Can you match my driver to my irons?

We can write both numbers. We will not pretend they belong on one stair. Length, mass, and clamp geometry are different species. People who insist on a single-bag frequency usually leave with a pretty chart and the same miss.

Why close Friday at noon and all weekend?

The corridor gets loud. The suite warms up. Graphite remembers. A Saturday tick in this building has been, in our notes, a noisier number. We would rather be closed than entertaining.

Will winter change my stair?

Dry air can. That is why the recert exists. If your 7-iron “went dead” in January, it may have gone quicker, not softer — a counterintuitive reading we see every furnace season. Bring last year’s sheet if you still have it.

Can I watch?

Yes. Stand off the yellow tape. Do not lean on the rail. Do not pluck a shaft “just to hear it.” Marisol will stop the capture if the room becomes a concert.

Do you sell clubs off the wall?

No wall. No demo library. If a tube is required, we order or you bring it. The hangar is a vise and a microphone, not a showroom.

What if my 7-iron rattles?

We stop. A rattle is not a frequency. Darnell can look at the hosel; he will not invent a CPM for a loose head and then “match” the rest of the set to the rattle.

Still stuck? Write cpm@freqmatch.website with the club that is lying. Short notes get faster replies than novels.
